We Have Moved!

We are pleased to announce we have moved to a brand new location for RCD Radio, a bigger and better place for our radio transmissions.

Although there is a lot of work still to be done and it’s taken a very long time for this to sort out, we are still not able to broadcast shows right now, we need a splash of new paint on the walls, carpets and brand new furniture, including our brand new super big desk!

Here is a first look at the new space we have got our hands on.

Some work does need to be done on this space, so we are going to be working on it over the next few weeks/months, we hope to have a full studio set up by Christmas, or if we are lucky, just before.

We shall post updates on our social media pages, Twitter and Facebook, in the meantime, you can still listen to RCD Radio 24/7 Live Music stream on our Live page, as this is not effected by the move and it shall not be.

Thank you for sticking with RCD Radio, we are very excited about the future of the station now that we have hold of some bigger space, we shall post updates on social media as and when there is something exciting to share.

All New in 2016

From all of us here at RCD Radio, we would like to thank everyone who has been involved with RCD Radio in 2015, it has been a massive year for us and we are going to continue this in to 2016.

Our main highlight this year was our 26 hour broadcast we did in July, hitting our record for the most unique website visits, most people in our IRC chat at the same time and most amount of viewers watching us on our Live stream, what a exhausting 26 hour show that was, you can still watch the entire 26 hour show on our website, by going to http://july18.rcdradio.com/theshow and you can find all the highlight videos, schedule and pictures, all at http://july18.rcdradio.com

Apart from RCD Radio’s Longest Ever Radio Show, most commonly known as  July 18, our audience base has increased over the past year, with lots of new shows popping up before our summer event we did this year, unfortunately towards the end of this year, our availability has been in decline, but we should be doing a few more of these shows in the new year.

That is the past, here is what we are working on in 2016.

I can reveal that in 2016, we shall be releasing a brand new website design which has been in the works since the summer of this year, brand new design that will look amazing on large monitors and TV screens, perfect so you can see more of the stream at the same time. – The image above is a little preview of the new home page.

pic5We have been working on a 720p version of our stream which works very well, unfortunately we are having to look for a new streaming service which can support multiple bit rates of our feed, we have already rolled out 720p recordings for our shows on YouTube, we hope to have our feed in 720p HD very soon in 2016 thanks to our brand new Intel Core I7 machine. – View our full studio specs at http://rcdradio.com/studio/

We hope you will continue to support RCD Radio in 2016, thank you once again for your support in 2015 and a Happy New Year to you all, see you in the new year!

New Website – But we never really wrote about it… Until NOW!

rcdradio-website-screenshot-photoOn Tuesday 23rd April 2013, RCD Radio Re-Launched its brand new designed website! but we never really wrote a blog post about it… until NOW!

So here we go…

Our new website design is sleek, fresh, new and full of more information than the last version of the site, you can now look up specific shows or events on the website, RSVP the events on Facebook directly from our website, have a full studio tour and read what equipment we use in our top of the range studio, watch us Live, on our Live page and get what we are playing Live on the stream in real time, directly from our Live Page.

Schedule

Our brand new schedule is now on our website and will be kept up to date on all of our broadcasts which go on, each event on our schedule also links to the event on Facebook for easy use to RSVP on Facebook, if you RSVP an event on Facebook, you will then know when the upcoming broadcast is coming within that week, therefore, making it so you cannot miss the event.

We will also update each event on the website and on Facebook if it gets cancelled or re scheduled to another date, you will get a notification on Facebook if you have RSVPed if the event is cancelled, rescheduled or if we have some news about the event.

View our schedule by going to http://schedule.rcdradio.com

Shows

Even though we don’t have many shows at this moment of writing on RCD Radio, you can lookup any show we broadcast on RCD Radio from our show page, that includes the NOW! Series, or DJ Lozo’s Mixes. – The idea behind the shows page is that you can view more information about our shows we broadcast, watch past episodes of those shows, plus view pictures and any other YouTube videos related to that show.

Studio

Our top of the range studio specification is now all posted on our website! you can now see from our studio page what equipment we use to make RCD Radio broadcast to you Live! there will be a new blog post about our studio later in the week, but you can always view our studio by going to http://rcdradio.com/studio

RCD Radio Logo RedLive Page

Bigger than before! Our Live page plays host to our main Broadcast on Ustream for RCD Radio, with our Live chat room directly on the right hand side so you can easily chat and see the Live Broadcast, the Live page can also change in real time to show other broadcasts if RCD Radio is not on air at the time.

The Live page now uses a Ajax and jQuery coding and can change feeds at any time that any of the moderation staff decide to, for example, when the main RCD Radio feed is offline and nothing else is going on, we may decide to change the main feed on the Live page to another Ustream feed, YouTube video, Justin Feed or even another iFrame code.

The same Ajax and jQuery system also takes place on the home page and on the sidebar of any page on the entire website, so any of these feeds can change at any time and in real time. – Check out the Live Page at http://live.rcdradio.com
