DJ Lozo Suit during NOW! Volume 3 PointingDCB Smart Shirt and Tie Suit Top Hat Smile DJing

Happy New Year from everyone at RCD Radio! We wish you a happy 2015! On this bright note, we wish to announce a brand new set of shows on RCD Radio for 2015.

Request Shows
Starting with immediate effect, RCD Radio will now be putting on random request shows from our station DJ’s, the idea of these request shows is that the DJ can broadcast any time, day or night on RCD Radio a request show, so long as there is nothing to collide with it within the schedule.

During these request shows, listeners may request any song we have in huge library, we will update Social Media when these request shows will go Live and who is taking your requests, plus this information will be shown at the top of the Live page, the request show playlist is ran by the On Air DJ, meaning it overides everything that is on our automation schedule at http://rcdradio.com/clara/

So far, DJ Lozo and DJ Luemas155 will be the ones taking your requests until we hire more DJ’s at RCD Radio.

requestsHow can requests be made during these shows?
By typing !request SONG INFO HERE in our Live Chat room, this will send a notification to the on air DJ of your request to play, plus you can put in a special message for the DJ to read out, if you don’t want to do that, you can simply make a request by sending us a tweet to @RCDRadio Followed by your request, or post on our Facebook Wall.

Or you can visit our request shows page and make your request in the contact form box provided at http://rcdradio.com/requests/

ALL REQUESTS ARE SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS – THE UP TO DATE VERSION CAN BE FOUND ON THE REQUESTS SHOW PAGE:

Last Updated: 08/08/2013

  1. The On Air DJ has the right to decline any song request made by users.
  2. It is up to the moderation staff and on air DJ if your request should be played.
  3. We can only play songs which are current on our playback automation system, we have thousands of songs and there is a chance we have something for you, even if its not the song you wanted, we may ask you if its ok if we play a different song by that artist.
  4. Do not request the same song over and over again, we will not play it, we like to get a bit more of a variety going on.
  5. If you request a song which has already been played recently within the first hour, we may ask you to choose another song or we may compromise and tell you approximately when we will be able to next play your request.
  6. At this time we may not do request shout outs, we may only say the name of who requested the song, this system is currently beta and we will add some more options in the coming future.
  7. Any users attempting to use staff or moderation commands for the request system, may find themselves banned from the channel without a pre warning, even though we may give warnings, expect not to get one.
  8. The On Air DJ has the right to turn on and turn off the request system as they please, they do not have to take requests from users.
  9. If we have a high volume of requests coming in, we may not be able to play all the requests, if that is the case, the On Air DJ will say so in the chat room or on air and may stop taking requests for the meantime.
  10. The requests Terms/Policy can change at any time, every time the Terms/Policy changes, we will say so on social media and we shall update the date of when it was last updated.

For more information on the request shows, visit the requests show page at http://rcdradio.com/requests/

Lost Video and Audio from 29/11/2014 Broadcasts

DSCF4525Due to unforeseen circumstances, RCD Radio is missing video and audio footage of last nights shows on RCD Radio, such as DJ Lozo’s Mixes Episode 7 and Rock Night with DJ Luemas155 Episode 1.

DSCF4501We expected the videos to show on VaughnLive when our broadcasts had finished, but what had happened was the broadcast had lost connection, re connected to the VaughnLive servers and its believed it over wrote what had already been recorded.

This means, we only have about the last 50 minutes of Rock Night with DJ Luemas155 Episode 1, we shall try and upload this on to YouTube this week.

DJ Lozo will be doing a re record of his original broadcast, it won’t be Live, it will be recorded locally and it will then be shared on YouTube at a later date (Hopefully this week)

So if you were hoping to re watch these two broadcast, this is quite unfortunate, but we shall do our best to restore what we can, we did take allot of photo’s during the night, so these photos will appear on the appropriate pages on the site for that show, more details about that in a future blog post.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Brand New Hard Drive – Its Called SUPERDRIVE

blog-hard-drive-10-10-2013-1Just over a week ago, we wrote a blog post about how we have suffered yet again a hard drive failure and we were working on getting its replacement in.

Read that blog post here

The replacement drive is here and is now operational! Restoring the drive was no easy task and it took a fair few hours to get its backups, such as music, jingles and voice overs, but everything has now been restored and we are ready for broadcasting Now That’s What I Call Music Volume 10 on the 16th October

The New Drive

The new drive is a Buffalo DriveStation Combo 2TB eSATA/USB-2.0/Firewire External Hard Drive, after we originally thought our streaming machine took FireWire, we were very wrong, after looking at the port and the writing above it, we noticed that the port was actually a eSATA port which was very exciting to hear.

blog-hard-drive-10-10-2013-2eSATA allows you to transfer files to the hard drive at super hyper speeds, which for us is perfect as we do music streaming from the device, according to the manual, it allows transfers up to 15000MBPS (Mega Bits Per Second) which is allot faster than Firewire and USB.

The drive is a solid state hard drive with 2TB of space, its plenty for our music library, the new drive has also been networked so we can access the drive to update the library from any machine on the network and without there being any disruption from disconnecting the drive or connecting any USB sticks or Hard Drives for music transfers.

Overall, we are very pleased with this drive and its going to be in good use for the next few years. (Hopefully)
