To find out what genres music we are playing on the feed, you can check out the schedule at http://clara.rcdradio.com (Remember, this schedule does not count when there is a Live feed showing, only when the feed is in Automation Mode.)

What’s happening at RCD Radio? What’s New?

studio-pic26RCD Radio 24/7 Streaming
The reason RCD Radio is currently offline and has been for a few months is due to the lack of high quality equipment, I will not stream in poor quality, I refuse, with this being said I would like to announce my aim.

However, on its way is a brand new Dell Precision T3400 machine which shall be used as a server to support a 24/7 Live Music Stream, it was ordered early yesterday morning and is expected to arrive on Friday 5th September, once we have it up and running, you will be the first to know by our blog.

IdleChat IRC
Our chat used to be held on the iPocalypse IRC network, but recently, iPocalypse has merged in to one great big giant ball of fire with another network (Known as DamDevil IRC) and is now called IdleChat, what does this mean to you? absolutely nothing, the only difference is that the name of the network has changed, you can still use your same old username and password like you always have, this paragraph is a huge shout out to IdleChat! Vaughnlive – Ustream
After hours of considering it, we have decided to switch video streaming platforms for our main stream from Ustream to Vaughn live as Vaughn live meets what we need in order to Live stream, for now though we are going to be giving it a trial run and if it does not turn out as good as we hopped, we shall return back to Ustream, you can check out our stream on Vaughn Live and follow us at http://vaughnlive.rcdradio.com

Justintv
As you may of already heard, Justin.tv shut down in early August and for obvious reasons we do not have any plans to continue with this company, all domains and URL’s to Justin.tv have been removed from our site.

All New Automation

automation-lionelINTRODUCING!!! AUTOMATION!!!

We are now getting involved in more musical broadcasts, we are now introducing random streams on RCD Radio, one of new ones is called, Automation!

Automation will be a process where we play non stop randomised music from our music library at random times and random days, there is no schedule for this.

The reason this is going to be random is because its all down to availability of the studio and depending on when we can do automation, during automation we plan just to play non stop music, with ads, jingles and voice overs during intervals of songs, we may play anything from jazz, rock, pop, funk, R&B, metal and many more.

The point of automation, is that we can set it so it plays tunes from the library at random, there is no DJ on duty when we are in automation! but there may be someone sitting at the desk, however they may not be in charge of the music, its all happening by itself, therefore, we will not be taking requests.

studio-pic37Although we will be playing all sorts of music, at times, we may only play music from one artist, one genre, or just a selection of genres at times, but we will let you know what sort of music we will be playing.

How? we will always update our Twitter and Facebook when we go Live with automation, we will tweet that we are playing absolutely anything and you can come and check us out on the Live page!

The reason we are starting this little automation process on RCD Radio, is because we want to start broadcasting more, so we can get noticed more and get more people to come and visit us, to see what we are about and to see what sort of shows we have coming up on our schedule.

Visit our new page on automation, which will answer many more questions about what it is and how it works, visit the automation page at http://automation.rcdradio.com

If you have any questions or concerns about automation, please feel free to contact us: http://rcdradio.com/contact
